During the draft coverage Mel Kiper said he had him rated higher than big Sam .....Mcshay said come on Mel really...

I think ESPN is trolling with McShay's continued employment. There really is no way to justify an "expert" who is consistently wrong and called out on being so. Jimmy Clausen.

Yeah, I saw that too. It's an interesting comparison.
Big Sam is going to be a linebacker in the Texans' 3-4, so he may have a chance to be more of a playmaker (put up better numbers). But, I'm real curious to see how he does dropping into coverage. I just can't envision him doing that very naturally (hope I'm wrong).
I actually think Lavar would be more natural in coverage because of his fluidity and ball skills.
Lavar is more fluid in his movements than Sam, but Sam is more quick twitch. Sam is better at getting off blocks after contact. I think Lavar has a little more power at the point of contact, which is evidently one thing the Titans liked about him.
Neither one has real good pass rush moves. Hopefully they can develop some in the NFL.

Lavar Edwards has been one of my favorite players his whole LSU career. I think he's going to do well in the NFL.

You have to think that Simon is the boss of Eunice only because Lavar doesn't want to be.
