I like him as a project at WR, could be our next slot guy/special teamer...

4.32 40, worked out as a WR at the combine.

With Toon and Morgan, you don't think we have enough project WRs? I agree that WR is probably the next need that will have to be addressed on offense, but I look at it this way. In a perfect world scenario:

Toon (big-bodied WR): Heir to Colston since he is getting up there.
Morgan (Speedy Gonzales): Future deep route WR. Showed great flashes last year against TB.

Denard would be a good pick for redundancy at Moore's slot position. Swope wouldn't be too bad either. My concern is now that Henderson is gone (unless he comes back with a huge pay cut) they'll have to pick up another WR with turbo jets on his arse. I like Quinton Patton (I know, I'm a homer) for the next WR draft.

Why waste a pick on a project WR when he'll likely go undrafted?

Probably will, but he's one of those flashy players that could be a surprise pick in maybe 7. Definitely not 5 though.

I wouldn't mind it, but I'm intrigued with either Ace Sanders or Darick Rogers

Why is he such a terrible pick in maybe 7? He has the physical tools to play WR. We don't have a backup QB that's worth a damn. He has some versatility, wouldn't be a bad pick.

Exactly.

What position would he play. It wouldn't be QB.

Can he catch, who knows.

Wait, you think Denard Robinson would be a viable backup in the NFL?

You could use someone like that in a SHTF scenario. Remember the Browns game in 2010?LINK

We all know Payton has the mind to use players like these. So stop being such a condescending douche.

He's projected as a slot WR in the 5 th.
I watched him at the combine. He needs some work but would be a game CHANGER, and let's be honest, Drew could use some younger weapons.

Kyper had him going to Cincy in the 3rd

He had a better combine than a college career. I don't think he's 5th round, maybe 7th or UDFA. I agree this guy possesses great physical tools and, like I said, has some versatility. NFL games are being played a lot more unconventionally every year. Payton is not a conservative play caller. This guy could be worth a 7th or a training camp invite out of UDFA.

DJ, can he catch?

Serious question.

Also, how tall is he?

6'
Moore: 5'9"

Hell I was a college LB and I could catch better than most TEs. Being in the spread offense he has to be able to catch snaps. Not exactly tested as a receiver, but he's not incapable of catching. It's not like he has clubs for hands or anything.

They worked him as a WR at the combine exclusively. He has all of the tools. Just needs to be refined. Could be a stud on special teams as well...

He'll also need route skills and be able to understand route trees.

I wish him luck and would be surprised if he was drafted.

He's projected as a fifth.
