no they needed a good cover safety....Reid is more of a run stop safety...plus how would you pass the no 1 safety to take the no 2

Can't believe Simon, Wing, Mathieu and Montgomery got passed in the first round. Big mistake.

Vaccaro was ranked higher almost everywhere.

Whats so funny. Look at what Geno Smith did to Texas in 2012. Smith was 25-of-35 passing for 268 with four touchdown passes. Geno completed 71.42% of his passes against Texas, and only 58.5% against us. Reid is much faster, smarter and better safety. The NFL scouts got it wrong.

You've got it wrong. When we played WVU we had Claiborne (taken 6th overall) Reid, Mathieu, Simon

That group of DB's is much better than UT. It wasnt' like Reid was the only person on D and Vaccaro was the only one on D for Texas.

I don't know where people come up with this stuff.

clearly nothing to do with having Mo, TM7, Mingo, Montgomery, etc. on the team too. It was just because of Reid. Reid regressed from 2009 to 2010 anyways. Also nothing to do with a player having an extra year in college. All of Geno's #'s improved

not really much faster, seems like Vaccaro has better hips too

smarter

probably

better safety

remains to be seen

Wait, a safety is responsible for QB completion percentage? So who was responsible for the 400+ yards we gave up in the air to Geno?

Vacarro was the best cover safety in the draft. Both players are great and both fit well with each team they were drafted by.

Vaccaro over Reid isn't the dumb pick. Vaccaro over Jarvis Jones is the dumb pick.

I'm sure he did, considering he went from being a senior in highschool to a freshman in college.
