Only 1 Saints 1st rd QB

In Saints History they only drafted 1 QB in the 1st rd ( Archie Manning). Since Drew Brees will be 37 by the end of his contract. I hope we draft our QB of the Future Next season or the year after.
Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Football, A.J. McCarron, Aaron Murray & Taji Boyd

we drafed Dave Wilson in the supplemental draft and gave up the #1 the following year (IIRC)

I don't think next year is the year. He'll only be 35 if I'm correct. I'd say probably by the 2015 season you'd have to seriously start considering it.

no we don't. What if Brees plays to 40+? The sit & groom model for QBs is being outdated. It's now rare for any 1st Rder (or even many 2nds) to sit on the bench and learn the ropes.
For Brees replacement I don't think they do that until the end is in sight. I have been on the bandwagon for them to draft a QB mid rounds to develop however. The pressure and expectations are completely different later on in the draft. UDFA Daniel after 3 years received quite a nice contract for throwing 9 NFL passes. Take that same process and apply it to a 4th-6th Rder. Think what ATL got for Schaub or NE for Cassel. In the bump orgy of my threads yesterday someone did a QB discussion one, prolly on pg2 or 3 now. This year I think UDFA more likely. How bout Renfree or Griffin? For a draftee I like Matt Scott 4th or 5th Rd.
