Choupique just came.

I'm excited to see it as well.

Did Rosetta just say on AFR that we could possibly see Katz at 2B and Moore at 1st?

Worth a shot if Mainieri trusts Mason's range

Pretty dumb even if Mainieri finally wants to play Moore. Put McMullen in the outfield and DH Moore.

This way we don't have to worry about the Stevenson or Sciambra chronicles anymore.

Made a bad error on a routine roller to 2nd. I'm guessing it was more of a "straw that broke the camel's back" scenario based on his lackluster performance throughout the year than anything.

I think the point is replacing Jacoby's bat with Moores. If it works awesome, if not then go back to the way it was. That's what is awesome about Mainieri, if he sees an opportunity for the team to get better even if they are already playing well then he'll pull the trigger. He knows what buttons to push. We all remember the 09 lineup and defensive changes.

Moore batting would upgrade the team without having to downgrade the infield at 1st and 2nd. Nola in 2009 upgraded the defense.

I know what you're saying but I think he's worried that Jacoby has become too much of a liability at the plate and the difference between him and Katz may not be that much. It's just one of those "buttons" he's thinking about pushing and if it doesn't work out then he can go back to the original lineup.

Didn't they have Moore at 3rd some during the fall? Could he not play 2nd?

Why not play Moore at 3rd and Ibarra at 2nd?

Even better. Ibarra would be at ss if not for Bregman.

ETA: But Ibarra has been so good at third too.

This. Unless it truly is a straw that broke the camel's back situation that we may never know about, I don't understand screwing with this defense based on one game after a marathon and an illness. Ibarra certainly had an off game as well although it didn't appear to be a lack of effort issue.
