Got one and will not fire...now I can't disassemble it either. Anyone really familiar with them and can help me out?

We'll need a little more information.

Is it light-striking primers?
Is the hammer failing to set?
Is the hammer failing to fall?
Does the trigger feel disconnected?

...etc

You sound like a novice, no offense.

What makes it so you can't take it apart?

It's not the easiest gun to assemble/disassemble, but it shouldn't be difficult.

Sorry for the delay but found a good site with close ups of the gun during the steps. Ruger Mark III

For some reason the mainspring housing was not coming out, I put it down and after posting tried again and it came straight out, not sure what I did wrong.

bapple, I was not getting a hammer fall when I pulled the trigger

I have a feeling that it was the hammer strut not being properly closed the last time it was field stripped. and perhaps that was why it wouldn't come out. could if have been the angle I was holding it, strut was in the way?

Kosmo, none taken, will admit Im not good with the mark III. Im a glock armorer and will buy the 22lr when it comes out, 35 parts for the win.

kidding aside, thanks for the help. please set me straight if you have any clue how I screwed it up for sure to begin with
