Went to Cafe Nero today. Been wanting to stop in because it's a nice little corner in the Marigny. Just okay. Coffee wasn't great. Had a turkey, bacon, and bleu cheese on sourdough and it was allright as well. Just a step off of nicely presented and interesting. Not bad...but also not great.
Dinner at Booty's street food was GREAT. I loved the idea of serving street food from around the globe and they have a nice selection. Between 3 of us we had the Banh Mi, Fish and Chips, Steak Chimichurri and Pork tacos, Gunmandu(crispy Korean dumplings), and Belgian Fries with aioli. The Banh Mi was great as were the steak tacos and gunmandu. The rest were very good if not fantastic. The ony slight disappointment was the fries were not as crisp as they should be but that's minor in the scope of the meal.
Loved the aesthetics. Very sparse and an attractive use of natural materials that came off as a cross between on old lamplit New Orleans shack and a California wine bar. The staff were great and the customers had a nice vibe. Will definitely be going back again. Give it a shot.
