My pitching is so bad, so I'm gonna try to win at saves, era, and whip

Did I win or lose with this trade?

You can't try to win ERA and WHIP with a relief pitcher. Terrible deal. Johnson is an extremely lucky RP. Should have sent after a top notch SP for Votto.

Johnson isn't lucky, he just doesn't K anyone. Ground ball pitcher. He's still good for saves.

Votto Went 101/29/103/309 his last healthy season

Butler was at 72/29/107/313

Outside of runs they are basically the same fantasy player. Votto has the benefit of a great lineup

Not a terrible deal if you need saves and you don't put Votto on a pedastal

Depends on the cats. Votto also has a big edge if this an OBP or OPS league, but yeah, AVG is a safe assumption.

This guy strikes me as a AVG league type.

Billy Butla was a silver slugger last year. Gotta give him his props

I agree about the AVG type.

But last year was Butler's year, will he do it again?

Country breakfast is the tits.
But he's no Votto.
And I only trust about 2 closers.

Yeah Votto is definitely better.

But I'd take Butler +35 saves (theoretically) over Votto

I know Johnson isn't the best and I was sure he would fall apart last year. But the dude was sensational and notched 51. That's a lot of "luck"

Rondo being pissed at me for drafting JJ for him in rw3r last year, then me rubbing it in his FGT face, was awesome.

When I looked at the stats for both I figured it was almost a equal deal then throw in Johnson, my hitting is very good right now. With greinke hurt my only good pitchers are anibal Sanchez and morrow. I'm in 5x5 roto

Fair deal... especially if it's a non-keeper.

If the trade locks down saves in your league then you did okay. I wouldn't have taken the trade if I didn't already have a solid closer. That said I have Butler and Johnson in my league and I wouldn't give them up to get Votto.
