Not sure what "turned" for me and know others were anti Joe from start. I supported him and met him once and seems like a nice guy, smart, and does a lot of good things, but the list of "not good" is IMHO too long. So, what are possible exit ideas- doubt he can get fired anytime soon, what can we expect as far as chances he retires or is hired away? Most importantly, I do think we have two GREAT possible ADs on campus in Verge and Herb,

My list of "bad," in no order- NOT strong enough in SEC office as far as fball sch etc., not making effort to win in "minor sports" at all, not supporting major sports as he should, not a strong face for lsu sports, not doing any cleaning up of dead wood in AD, fund raising lousy (I hear he is/is not good with TAF, not sure), "just does not fit" I relaize this last one may get me flamed...

What?

Johnson was the only hire for him that hasn't worked out, and in his defense, Johnson was a home run hire on paper.

LSu football is one of the biggest money makers in the country, LSU baseball is having a tremendous season. Men's basketball is on the rise. Women's basketball just had a nice run in the tournament. Softball is succesful.

To add, gymnastics had a very good year along with track and field obviously being one of the best programs in the nation. Probably the only sport that might be "down" would be volleyball.

A west coast hire who made a sweet sixteen with two NBA 7 footers on his roster who was clear that from the start that he would not embrace the local community a home run? Lol at you.

He runs are not hit on paper.

fully nine of our "minor sports" (about half) have not won an SEC title in 15+ years, most much longer and he has made only two changes in them. Jury out on all his hires, not saying they are "bad" but while WB and MB had better than expected years, neither is where they need to be yet..time will tell...

Your right he is terrible

Football contends every year
Baseball having best season ever
Softball is ranked and contending
Track is having a good season so far
Women's basketball made a huge impression in the tournament
Men's basketball just brought in a great recruiting class and showed positive signs of growth last year

Lets fire him.
Y'all are some ungrateful motherfrickers.

To add, gymnastics had a very good year

PLEASE dont make me do this..gym finished 4th in SEC..they have been in BOTTOM HALF OF SEC 12-14 YEARS, not won the 5-7 team conf since 1981! Same coach, just like WG...they do have some good years, but no SEC's....can we at least try and win our own conf every 15 years in gym, mg, wg, cross country, mt, wt, swimming and diving, soccer, because NONE of them have...fball is king, but can we ever do well in these other sports? Other SEC schools do

When Johnson was hired, he was the COtY in two major conferences. We had an apr problem that he fixed.

Hell, after Trent's first season, who had any idea we would tank? Thankfully, we are back in the rise.

Trent was a great hire on paper at the time.

You are a retard.

So the AD's job is judged by historically bad "minor sports" team winning SEC titles? LSU's atheletic program makes tons of money and all major sports are either extremely competetive or on the rise.

Is this thread still because you are upset about gymnastics?

We are one of the very few schools that makes a profit on the total AD dummy.
