I have our salary commitments to be 35 million. But after talking to Steve Kyler of USA today sports he has our salary commitments at 42 million. Am I missing a 7 million dollar player? Thanks guys for the help.

I only have phone access this week, but I'll assume he's counting lopez and our options on the cheap guys as commitments. Add up all the guys we don't have options on, add $500,000 to buy out Lopez and then add $490,000 for each minimum roster slot hold until the roster gets to 12.
Cap space should be $15 or $19.5 with or without Lopez IIRC. That includes keeping Smith because I can't see cutting him unless its necessary to get CP3.

Lopez, roberts, thomas & miller are team options that equal that amount. Thomas maybe the only man out.

Does that include an assumed hold for the draft pick?

I don't remember if it did or not. We should have gotten droman to add one of the cap threads to the FAQ so we could easily find them again.

Hard to imagine us not paying for Roberts, miller and Lopez considering their ages and cheapness

I think they'll be back too. The only reason to create maximum cap space is for a CP3/iggy level FA which is highly unlikely.

How is cp3 even a long shot?
