That's why he never lifted a weight or ran track and just partied all the time. He knew he had you working your butt off for him.

Posting on a message board is not investing time and energy and getting a player to the NFL. If he makes it is because of the hard work and dedication he has invested, not you.

He will run for 1000 yards one year in the league. To this day I'll never understand how he got less carries than Spencer "Dive into the ground at first contact" Ware

To say Ford takes contact better than Ware is just silly. I think the biggest reason why Ware got more snaps than Ford is because he is a much better blocker. Pretty valuable trait to have when the QB takes forever to get rid of the ball and never sees the CB coming at him.

He was much, much faster on the football field than Ware. It wasn't even close.

I do agree he was a better blocker but I was referring more to 2011 not '12. Blue and Hill were clearly the superior backs in '12.

In '11 Ford had 50 less carries than Ware even though Ware hadn't played in 2 games (1 due to smoking a banned substance)

Ford also averaged 6 ypc while Ware was at 4 ypc. If Ford would have maintained his average and got Ware's amount of carries he would have went for 1062 yards. 355 more yards than Ware.

Also in the 2 games against Bama Ware averaged 1.89 YPC on 19 carries and Ford averaged 4.87 on 15 carries.

The type of plays that Ford usually ran was different from the run plays for Ware. Ware's carries involved getting the gritty yards right up the gut of the defense where it is much more difficult to break runs of over 4 yards. Ford was used more in situations where he ran around the defenders and to catch the defense tired and flat-footed after Ware pounds the ball at them up the middle. Using the logic that you used, Russell Shepard was our best RB and it wasn't even close.

This is true. However ford sucked between the tackles and getting those tough yards like Ware could....

Good luck to u and Ford, LeesvilleTiger.
Ford never really got to showcase his talents at LSU, for whatever reason. This guy can turn the corner at full speed which is rare, but unfortunately thats all I ever remember about Ford. If he got the ball it was going wide.
I understand your feeling of ownership in this kid and your hometown, it wouldnt shock me to see him gain 1000 yds some day.
Hope it all works out for y'all.

If he would have gotten those carries, that 6 YPC number would have dropped

Maybe because there were better players in front of him.

That would be a possible "whatever the reason" Cricket

There are many others if u care to list them all.

The point is that its good news for Ford to have some genuine interest from an NFL team especially a "damn good one" like the Falcons, who have
made changes at the position. Hopefully, he will be drafted and be good enough to make their team this year. For a big back, he can certainly get to the edge as well as anyone in this years draft. Support your Tigers, hope they all get a chance at pro ball and represent.

BTW
I dont fault the coaches for not giving Ford more carries, Im sure they had solid reasons for this. But, he wouldnt be the first non starter for LSU to have a fine NFL career.

He is (according to his agent) still a front runner with the Falcons, but he is meeting Monday in Foxboro with the Patriots. Again I am not pretending to know where he may end up just passing on what I know.

Any updates?
