So get suspened, get fined and going to a class isnt punishment enough. Rice could have sue Rutgers if that is the case. Because the judge could have say "did you give that person a chance to change or try to change" and if you say "No" then you will be in a world of hurt.

Actually, by all accounts rice did change. Rutgers had practice monitors installed and rice had no more incidents after his suspension. Also 60% of the footage used in the video that was turned over to espn happened in rices 1st year at rutgers.

Don't feel sorry for the AD at all. The suspension of Rice is weak and doing nothing to the assistant coach who was literally stepping up and challenging players to fight during practice was even worse. He's dumb for not initially laying it at the feet of his sub .500 coach he should've been trying to get rid of anyway.

I think the only reason people don't like the AD being fired is because it's all at the hands of public - social media ESPN calling for their heads.
They can criticize the coach all they want and the University...but not a single person said:
"Well, Rutgers decided to keep coach and its their decision to do so. But we don't like his actions. I wouldn't send my kid to play for him."
What earth shattering business is it of ESPN and social media who Rutgers has as their coach? This was crusade worthy? This was Brown vs. Board of Education?
It would be nice for once for the entertainment media to simply give their take and move on...instead of always acting like they have a vested interest in the scandal...implore someone to get fired...and then when they do - ESPN and others simply move on to something else...

This was discovered in or around November, suspension and fine was issued and the opportunity at a second chance was given. By all accounts improvements were made and the behavior was stopped. Now that college basketball is in vogue with the tournament, ie all the simple minded people in this country are watching ESPN had the opportunity to present controversial but old news to help bolster ratings.
The problem with this is it's old news, but ESPN waits to drum it up at convenient times. It's sensationalist journalism. ESPN has an agenda, there is no denying it. Add that to the amount of self-righteous people in this country and the mainstream liberalism movement and you have a recipe for the madness that takes place.

Heard plenty of people not on ESPN talk about how the AD and President also made mistakes and might have to go as well.

pernetti seems like a decent guy who got caught up in a situation that he couldn't control. lawyers and higher ups overruled him and now he's the fall guy.

He had all the control. He could've fired him when he 1st saw it or at the very least should've fired him immediately after the season. Why are you giving a long leash to a shitty coach who's hitting players?
