As a lifelong Astros Fan this sucks so bad. We had awesome stretch from the late 90s with Hampton,Lima, and the Killer B's all the way through 2006 with Roger clemens,Roy O, and Andy leading a devastating pitching staff. The reason for all this is Drayton Mclane and his refusal to go over slot to sign draft picks bc he didn't want to piss off his buddy bud selig who hated teams that did that.

The team is bad and I'm ok with it now bc I see an awesome team on the horizon and with how MLB contracts are structured it will be another decade of success when their batting order in 2016 is

I like where this is going......

quote:

LF-Delino Deshields JR - stole 101 bases this yr
2B-Jose Altuve - All Star 2b puts ball in play often
SS-Carlos Correa - #1 pick, some say .300 hitter with power
1B-Jonathan Singleton - 30+homer potential 1b
CF-George Springer - 20/20 guy
RF - Domingo Santana-another 6'5 power bat

Looks good, looks good....

quote:

DH-Chris Carter-30 HR potential

YOU BLEW IT!!!!! 30 K's in a week potential.

Seriously, I can stand there and do what he's doing.

It's amazing how fast he reached Carlos Lee levels.

I can understand that. But the guy is still relatively young. It just goes to show you that this guy needs some one on one time with a true hitting instructor in AAA for a few weeks.

My only hope for this guy is that he's still young enough to get his shite corrected.

Chris carter had 16 hrs in 67 games for oakland last year...same division were in now, that's a pace of 37 home runs over 162...so he had a bad 3 game stretch, pujols had a shitty April last year....you're just a fan who thinks .300 hitter means .300 each month no .250 one month,.350 the next ....typical irrational astro fan...we have a storm of talent coming and at least 2 more drafts with high high picks

Let me know when he gets into the box and looks interested in swinging like an adult.

Let me know when he gets a hit. And prom why no hate for Justin Maxwell? Did you see what he did to end the game Wednesday ? Dude swung out of his shoes and came.up empty on all 3 swings.. down 4 runs. Dude tried to hit a 5 run homer

Because I think Maxwell has some sort of potential.

I just think that Carter doesn't even want to be in Houston and his effort and body language shows it.

Listen newcomer,

I take offense to you calling me an irrational Astros fan. Ask Prom or anyone else from the DAT threads. I've defended Chris Carter probably more than anyone. In fact I've been telling Prom for a week now that we need a bigger sample size than 3 games to properly judge him.

We were talking about his plate approach more than anything else.

So the next time you decide to jump in a thread and start slinging insults, it might serve you to pay attention to previous posts, or at the very minimum ask for us to explain what we are talking about.

You gotta clarify who you're directing that at bro. I take my Astros seriously.

I still stand by my sentiment that Carter could use some one on one time with the hitting coach on his plate approach.

Agreed, because this guy is honestly not working out for him.

He spent one year. Drafted in 4th round of 89 and traded in August of 1990 for Larry Anderson.

Prom I see what you're saying and gunslinger I see your side too. Carter did have a bad series but its a little unfair to single out Carter because he's not the only one who looked like shite at the plate. Carter's forte is that of a typical power hitter. Low average, decent on base, lots of homers and strikeouts. To me I dont mind a strikeout because the end result is no different that a fly out or groundout. Where I do mind a strikeout is when a guy looks totally over matched like he doesn't belong in the majors. That was Carter (and most of the others) this first series. But in limited time last year, he proved he can provide power. Plus the short lf porch at MMP favors him. He may be total crap this year but give it more than 3 games to give up on his season.

Yup. Nailed it.

We've got to find some middle ground here.

Good news for us is that we're going up against Dan Straily tonight.
