re: Metal Detecting

I bought myself a minelab and searched my yard for a missing wedding ring. (wasn't there)

Anyway, it's starting to get dark and I get a strong gold signal. I dig down about a foot and nothing. Signal is stronger and I dig some more. I'm sweating up a storm and the mosquito's are eating me alive. I finally hit something and it's a flat metal piece. Treasure chest!!!! I'm rich!!!!

I don't use a light because I don't want to alert anyone to the riches I've just found. I continue to dig and finally the top comes up. That was it.. I dug a two foot deep by three foot wide hole in my backyard through compact clay and dug up a 16X24 board with a piece of metal on one side. Talk about disappoointment.

re: Metal Detecting

Know a kid who picked up a "diamond" on the ground of a Kroger parking lot. Parents Didnt believe him, but he carried it for a few weeks.

Finally they brought him to a pawn shop to get it check so he would just shut up about it - 11 year old walked out with $3k.
