the USC/UNC game sounds like a fun one to go to. If I lived anywhere near there I'd go for sure.

At the ACC spring meetings Wednesday, FSU athletics director Randy Spetman told the Orlando Sentinel that talks between the schools about a neutral-site 2016 game are "moving along."

"The AD at Georgia just doesn't know if he has room to put it in there," Spetman said, referring to UGA athletics director Greg McGarity.

Later this month, McGarity should know for sure. During their spring meetings in Destin at the end of May, SEC officials are expected to make a decision on playing a nine-game conference schedule. Like the ACC, the SEC currently plays just eight conference games. That allows both conference's member schools to schedule four non-conference games during a given season.

2015-16 Texas A&M-USC Series Never Finalized

Back in 2009, then Texas A&M Director of Athletics Bill Byrne announced that the Aggies were “finalizing a series with USC for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.” To date, a contract has not been completed for that series.

A spokesman for the USC athletic department told us last night that “there were very preliminary discussions between the schools, but nothing ever came of it.” Officials at Texas A&M have not yet returned a request for comment.

The same 2009 release also stated that Texas A&M would travel to Oregon in 2018 and host the Ducks in 2019. An Oregon official confirmed there is a signed contract and that the games are currently scheduled for Sept. 15, 2018 in Eugene and Sept. 14, 2019 in College Station.

The Aggies will host Louisiana Tech on Sept. 10, 2016 and New Mexico on Nov. 11, 2017. Tech will receive $200,000 for their contest, while New Mexico will get a cool $1 million.

A&M sure loves to play teams from Louisiana. What's with A&M and LA Tech. They play what seems every year.

La Tech has to give A&M a return game at Kyle at the discount rate b/c we went to Shreveport this year due to being in a scheduling crunch from changing conferences.

We have seemed to play them every few years since the mid 90s.

overall we are 11-0 against them. 9-0 in College Station and 2-0 in Shreveport.

“I still think it would be the most successful college football endeavor that we can undertake,” he said. “Yes, we’re in discussions. It would be whatever the schools want it to be: two years or four years, alternate between St. Louis and Chicago or alternate between Champaign, Columbia and St. Louis. We just feel we bring something to the table to produce that game here relative to atmosphere, revenue and tradition. Both athletic directors have indicated a willingness to look at the game.”

The Tigers and Illini played at the Edward Jones Dome in 2002 and ’03 and again from 2007-10, drawing an average crowd of 62,753. Both schools were guaranteed an annual $1 million payday and collected as much as $1.3 million to play off campus.

Nothing is guaranteed at this point. Part of the waiting game involves the Southeastern Conference’s pending decision on whether to expand to a nine-game league schedule in 2016, the same year the Big Ten will move to nine games.

JONESBORO, Ark. (6/28/13) – Arkansas State Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir announced Friday a two-year agreement has been reached with the University of Miami to play a home-and-home football series beginning in 2014.

Although an official game date has not been set for the initial meeting of the two-game series, the Red Wolves will catch Miami for the second time in school history at the Hurricane’s Sun Life Stadium in either August or September of 2014. The contract calls for the five-time national champions to play the return game in Jonesboro on Sept. 9, 2017, giving the Red Wolves a home game against a current ACC opponent for the first time in the program’s existence.
