we know what we have in Vasquez. Let the doctors insist that his ankle "needs" more time to heal, no matter how little pain he's feeling, then get a looksie at what we have.

Also, anyone know how Roberts's contract works? Team option next season, then UFA? How do Birds's rights work for a two year player?

We have nothing to lose, so why not give it a look?

There is a team option next year then he's an RFA. But he'd be a special RFA like Lin and Asik, so teams going after him would be able to give a poison pill contract, but I can't see Roberts getting any interest like that. This is just the emotion of a good night. Enjoy it, reality will come calling soon enough.

Robert's stats when he plays more than 20 minutes per game:

15 games

24.7 minutes per game

11 Ppg
5.3 Ast

48% FG
42% 3pt

an AST:TO ratio of better than 4:1 (71:16)

And he'll have an above average PER after this game. I'd forgotten how old he is (will be 28 for most of next season), but I'd like for him to build on this game and prove to be a capable backup PG in the event that we try to upgrade from Vasquez.

I wasn't saying he was a bad player, I even pointed out earlier today that Roberts has a very respectable Assist Percentage, I'm just saying he's probably not going to get an $8 million per year poison pill offer. New Orleans doesn't have the media power to get a player over paid like Lin.
