Bands you like but have a hard time listening to?

I have always liked Radiohead and think all the critical success is well deserved but I can only listen to them when I am in a certain mood and never for more than a couple songs. Same goes for other "depressing" bands.
Also true for the Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, and the Velvet Underground. Do you have bands like this?

Zeppelin for me.
They get skipped over a lot on my iPod but when I'm in the mood I REALLY fricking love them

AC/DC. They're great when you're at a big party and everyone's drunk but they can get on my nerves after a while.

I have tons of bands like that, that are great for parties but I will groan and skip them on the radio/ipod.

A huge chunk of my favorite music just doesn't go with Sunday mornings and coffee. That's how I found the Bridge on Sirius. The other way around is true too. No Bridge on weekend nights while I'm cooking/drinking etc.

I never looked at Radiohead as a "depressing" band...

I find their music depressing.

I find it unlistenable and I know that it's just me. I can handle a few tunes but that's it. I also think for the most part their music is depressing.

damn near every band in my catalog. there are certain songs that i won't skip, (like the girl with far away eyes, some girls '78) but if i don't feel like listening to the stones entire discography, i won't.
is that kind of what you are asking?

Hendrix. I like his music I just don't ever really seem to be in the mood to listen to it. Also Phish

If you think Radiohead is depressing, try listening to Bright Eyes, Low, Damien Jurado, and Songs:Ohia. They are far more depressing than Radiohead, imo.

Yeah, of course Radiohead has songs that are sad just like most other bands, but while much of is deep, and dark, that doesnt = depressing.
