Ole Miss 3-1, 21-2
LSU 3-1, 20-2
Vandy 3-1, 19-4
Texas A&M 3-1, 15-8
Alabama 3-1, 14-9
Miss St. 2-2, 21-4
SC 2-2, 18-4
Kentucky 2-2, 16-5
Arkansas 2-2, 15-7
Tennessee 2-2, 12-9
Florida 2-2, 11-12
Missouri 1-3, 7-11
Auburn 0-4, 15-7
Georgia 0-4, 8-14

Ole Miss and LSU have already reached 20 wins. The series between them at the end of the regular season in May may shape up to be huge for seeding.

LSU's ERA in 4 league games is 5.25. This will go down as more games are played, but not as good of a start as most would have expected.

The middle of the lineup is on fire right now. In these 4 games, Bregman-Rhymes-Katz-Ibarra have gone 22-for-59 (.373), with 14 runs and 17 RBI.

Laird has been on base in every game, and Jones and Ross have been hitting the ball well even though their averages don't reflect it.

Although it's so early in the season, it is a solid 3-1 start and LSU should be at or near the top of the standings all season long

Couple of thoughts to add....it's nit picking but Nola needs to be sharper and Rumbelow has to get better or they may have to try someone else in his role (maybe Berry even though he was a little off tonight). Overall the pitching is good enough, you can win 2/3 in every series with Nola, Eades, Bourgeois and Cotton, but it would be easier with one or two other guys stepping up. We'll see what Glenn can give them on Sunday.

Berry gave up his first run tonight, he's been solid....who's been better that isn't pitching on the weekend?

Nola, Eades, Bourgeois, and Cotton are a hell of a core group of guys that the team can rely on. Glenn's start against Miss St didn't go well, but he'll get another chance in front of a home crowd.

I thought Nola pitched well tonight, he just needs to find a groove; he already pitches with a ton of confidence.

A couple of things I have wondered about in the lineup are DH and the outfield. We have a deep rotation this year when it comes to outfielders. Laird, Stevenson, Sciambra, McMullen, and Foster (still improving) are very capable.

Rhymes is decent in left, but with Edward and Chinea not impressing at DH I wonder if Mainieri will let a more natural outfielder be out there and put Rhymes at DH. It will make the lineup better defensively and we wouldn't lose anything offensively. Again, plenty of ball left to be played and the formula has worked thus far. Just curious

I also like what Moore can do with the bat, so against righties I would expect he gets chances

I think Rhymes stays in left field all season. He didn't come back for his senior year to DH.

Ageed. I also think maniere wants to help rhymes's draft position, which is improved by having a position.

You're probably right about that. Nothing to complain about so far

Eades is the Ace this year. PM won't move him to Friday, but he will go to him in post season. Reynolds may take over Sunday spot.

Eades looked this good last season in March then got tired and faded. Hold your horses on that one.

If you're a scout, what is Rhymes showing you in LF that would cause you to want to draft him higher?

If eades gets the opportunity to dominate tonight, he could be the friday guy soon

I think Eades and Nola are interchangeable on Friday nights. Good with either. He will stick with Glenn until he proves he absolutely can't do it. Rhymes is in left all year. Would live to have one of the right handed DHs step up.

Eades was really good in 2012 but has been dominant this season. Probably going to be drafted really high if he keeps this up

LSU pitchers are victims of its own success. In yesterday's game we gave up earned runs at the end because we were pitching scrubs because we had a big lead. In three of our four SEC games we've done this because games were out of hand, and we isn't want to burn our best relievers.

We definitely weren't pitching scrubs last night. Have you followed the team any?

LSU's ERA is bad because of one bad Sunday game.
