The, perhaps unfair, assumption is that most of these kids/families will need some form of government assistance, therefore grow up Democrat.
But by that logic, 52% aren't born to unwed mothers so GOP should outnumber Democrats by 4%.

2 people of the same sex cannot physically produce a child.
Gay marriage has pretty much nothing to do with this.

My girlfriend and I had a child without being married. There's nothing wrong with this. Of course we are married now but we both believe marriage is pretty much an antiquated idea. Why take a perfectly healthy relationship then add the government to it? Tell you one thing I know, it is since we got married. we pay a whole lot more for things and get a lot less back. Maybe so of them libs that aren't getting married know something we don't lol.

I don't ever hear the Dems counting. It's the GOP that's counting every vote because majority of Americans can support the GOP's platform. Romney said it best!

These are simply unwed mothers. Single mothers make up less than half of the figure discussed in the link.
So how, again, is this a democrat thing? The "I dont need a man" movement has nothing to do with legitimate couples who don't wait for marriage to start families.
I know more unmarried couples with children than I know unmarried couples without children and I definitely know more unmarried parents than I know married parents. And just about all of them are republicans and very conservative folk.

This is obviously simplistic and stupid, but the government does subsidize single motherhood. The extent of the effect is all that's really debatable.
Would poor welfare moms become responsible without welfare programs? Some maybe would have to.
