| Department of Ed creates new six-figure job, while wielding sequester ax (Posted on 3/20/13 at 9:17 am)
quote:
The Department of Education’s sequester cuts are taking a brutal toll on federally-funded schools on Native American reservations, but the federal agency still found money to create a new six-figure job promoting “Educational Excellence for African-Americans.”
quote:
But in Washington, education funding cuts did not stop the appointment this month of a former elementary school teacher and aide to Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y. to the job of executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African-Americans. David Johns was given the newly created job, where he will be “asked to identify evidence-based best practices to improve African-American student achievement from cradle to career,” according to the Department of Education.

easy. fathers don't abandon your kids and get a job, mothers work with your kids at home and help with homework, kids don't do drugs and stay in school. where's my 6 figure job?

I caught CNNs black news guy the other day actually interviewing a woman promoting a black kids only missing children network. They both said that when a black child goes missing they get no attention like the white child does and the news guy asked the lady why she thought this was and she said racism. And now they have a special, Educational Excellence for African-Americans?”

I am convinced that a lot of these appointments in the department of Ed are rewards for political connections and little to do with qualifications (there is no way that this official is more of an expert in the field than probably a dozen names anyone on education could rattle off without trying hard). And it starts at the very top with Duncan. The dept of Ed is an easy target in part because of its own inefficiency. Of course, this is nothing new. But it also means nothing has Changed. What a farce.

I wonder what they teach Native Americans in regards to American History?

Defund it. Rand Paul 2016 It's done nothing since it's creation but make the education system in America worse.
