I'm lookin to add a leveling kit and z71 blocks to my 2002 silverado two wheel drive. What's y'all's thoughts on the size of the lift and brand I should go with? TIA

Then don't waste it on cosmetic changes to your truck. The 2002 Chevy uses a torsion bar front suspension - so you can't just add a leveling kit. You have to either switch to Ford torsion keys or tighten your existing keys. Both of those options will result in a worse ride and faster wear of suspension parts, costing you more money in the future.

Just my opinion, but unless living on a trust fund, any student should simply drive the cheapest thing with four wheels that is reliable and worry about other aspects after graduation and 6 months employment in his field.
