Ps3 freeze problem for blops2

Ok so it used to freeze for me maybe once in 50 games. In the last week, it has progressively gotten worse so that now its to the point I can only load the game 1/10 times. Once it loads to the start menu, I can play.
I get sick of trying to start the game unsuccessfully for 10 minutes and quit for a day.
I have re-installed revolution to no effect.
Is the patch screwed up, or is my system dying?
