My son in law (navy) and daughter are stationed NAS pensacola. What's best to do fishing just do a rental for a few hours. Try surf fishing or pier ?

I wouldn't rent a boat if you've never fished this area, I'm in Orange Beach, AL, you'll run out of time before you figure out where to fish. Best bet would be to did the pensacola pier. You should be able to catch some sheep head, flounder, specs or reds . Use bull minows & live.shrimp.
If you have.more time and willing to spend a little cash, get an inshore guide, $300-400 for a 1/2 day. If you could come to OB then call Capt. Dave Brown, he's an awesome guide.
