On PS3, do you use

X + control stick

Or

R1 + positional button

Seems likes both have their problems. X can pass it to the wrong person. I use R1 but occasionally I'll slip up because im used to a certain guy being at say, SG but I've moved him to SF

R1 and position button. I play against friends and try to play at a fast pace and it works great. Make sure the lanes aren't clogged and you should be fine. Gotta scan the field quick to make sure no one is in position to pick you off

I used to use X + control stick, but everytime there is an open shooter behind the three point line or someone under the goal open for an easy dunk, somehow the ball goes to the guy who is being doubled. So annoying.

This is the best option and it's not even close.
