Is this the worst fricking group of refs ever assembled!?

Seriously, they make the game hard to watch. I know LSU didn't make their free throws and was out rebounded but refs played a part in this almost comeback by Georgia.

The refs pretty much ignited Georgia's offensive woes from the first half by all these weak arse ticky tacky fouls. Completely changing their philosophy one half to the next threw LSU's defense off. The 2nd foul in the 2nd half on Carmouche when guarding KCP, he didnt even touch him. Honestly how in the frick do you call a foul when you cant actually see the opposing man making CONTACT with the other guy. Pathetic. I think like half of Georgia's points were free throws. LSU went on an 8 minute drought without scoring a FG, yet still maintaining a lead? Is this basketball? Its bad all the way around and really ruins the game.

Sorry for this rant but this shite has being going on all year. I dont even bother watching the away games for LSU because you know there is no way in hell they were winning this year.

College basketball refereeing in general has been horrible. Every home team is gonna win. The only positive i will take out of this, is next year I will be betting games.

Nope. The SEC has always had some of the worst basketball refs. It's always been like this. Seems like the better refs are in basketball conferences like the ACC, Big East, etc.

I guess it stands out more this year since LSU fans are actually paying attention a little bit to this team.

It drives me crazy that well paid college officials let the home crowd dictate what calls are made.

I agree the refs in all of basketball are horrible. How do you call it one teams ball when there player had the last two touches on the ball. How do you call a foul and not a charging call when the defender was moving away from the guy the entire time. I guess if you have the ball just look for someone moving and run them down.

Refs suck in basketball and always have.

Give me a break. Yes there we're some questionable calls (there always are), but the fouls were almost even LSU (21), UGA (20)

You know why? Because they made their damn FT's (23/30). LSU took a whole TWO less FT's than UGA, but instead shot a rim-breaking, glass cracking (13-28). Make your fricking FT's and no one is complaining about the refs.

Blame who you want, but LSU came out with a lackluster effort in the 2nd half, and compounded their problems by shooting under 50% from the FT line. UGA played better as a whole in the 2nd half, but that game should have never gotten below 8 pts.

actually said it was bad on BOTH sides. It sucks, it ruins the game for me. I just want to see a good officiated game. Or not even good just consistent. The way they called the 1st half and 2nd half were completely different.

I agree LSU should have made their free throws, but the refs ignited Georgia's offense. LSU came out playing hard and Georgia was in the bonus within 4 minutes of the 2nd half.

I agree. The SEC refs this season just look lost with the fast pace of the game. I would love to see some new ones next year who know the rules, can run the court and manage the game and not allow it to become a wrestling match.

This is my biggest complaint. They usually are terrible both ways.

Here's one thing they do if they really want to be biased towards one team, they'll make one ridiculously egregious terrible call on one team that stands out, and then every other call in the entire game will go to the other team. Then average viewers will just think they called it even. They don't do it often, but when they want to push for one team, that's how they do it.

ETA: The above scenario is when they go beyond their normal incompetence.

I for one do not blame the refs for what happened score wise in the game.

I do blame the refs for doing a shitty shitty job. And yes the refs have always been bad this bad... probably not.

I can remember as a kid watching LSU play bb and they had some tall white guy who's name escapes me right now. This guy would stand flat footed and they other team would jump up and into him and the stupid refs would call a foul on him every time, despite the fact that his arms were straight up and he never even moved.

JOB is driving down the court with 26 seconds left and they defense guarded him. Foul! What! JOB clears out players with his arms away from the ball resulting in much much more contact... no foul!

Yes refs suck in this win and in ever game.

I've seen many, many games that the officiating was bad on both sides.
This wasn't one of them. One reason why LSU shot close to the same amount is that Ga was fouling to put us on the line. Most of their fouls were pretty blatant.

The phantom call on Mouche
The blocking call on Hickey
Ticky Tack calls any time KCP touched the ball

The first 2 were bad enough that someone should lose their job.

All that said FT shooting like we showed today will get us a quick exit tomorrow. JOB was particularly bad today. Looked like he was trying to impress the scouts today with all the jumpers he was taking, but not making. Then all the missed FT's.

A win is a win.
