So, continuing with a thread of offensive logos (Redskins controversy) in sports, I thought I'd put them all out there but this standard. I guess the primary indicators are whether it "offends" or characterizes/steryotypes a large group of people, which inevetably is "offensive," or promotes or glorifies an offensive or politically incorrect theme.

Logos and Names:

Why did you include Winnipeg and not the NY Jets? Why are jets inherently offensive? Why not include the Rockets?

Winnepeg Jets promotes violence by incorporating a fighter; NY Jets are a tribute to aviation from and proximity to airports at their original home in Queens.

There's a reason they turned Homer the Brave into a baseball-headed mascot guy.

Why bring up an example that was already discontinued for being offensive?

how are the bills offensive?

Pirates are a caricature. The rangers? 99% of every one you listed?

you need to explain each one you listed, if for nothing else but comic relief.

I'm not sure how the Buffalo Bills name is offensive to anyone other than Buffalos.

Promotes violence and glorifies criminal behavior.

Titans envoke religious thought, and some suggest they were cannibals. Not appropriate. Patriots promote armed rebellion against the state. We can't have that.
