I've been craving some crawfish out here, but I wanted to avoid making the error of going to a place that doesn't cook them the right way. I know I could look it up, but I figured I'd get the opinion of people with Louisiana ties that know the area. So, if anybody has any suggestion on a place to get boiled crawfish inside the loop, I'd appreciate it.

I like Bayou City for SW Houston or KC's (now Bones) in north Houston.

I do love BB's in the Heights. I never tried the crawfish there, but the Surf and Turf PoBoy is great. They get a lot of New Orleans things right, so I assume they get crawfish right as well.

Just had BB's and I didn't think it was all that great. Too much shite on the outside rather than on the inside. To get flavor, you have to peel the whole tail, wipe the shite on your fingers on to the meat, and then eat.

I haven't found a good place to get crawfish in Houston. They don't do crawfish the way I'm used to. No place seems to actually use a boil, instead boiling the crawfish then putting spices on the outside. Just doesn't work.

ding ding ding

this is why i turn down "crawfish boil" invites here all the time.
i don't want to hurt anyone's feelings when they look for the Louisiana native's approval on their shite crawfish boiling methods.

That's what I'm trying to avoid. I went to the LSU crawfish boil last year, and they did that shite. A buddy and me were talking about it and one of the even organizers overheard and told us that they weren't supposed to do that and she would stop it immediately.

I'd say minimum 40% of crawfish harvested in Louisiana goes directly to the Houston area

I get mine (boiled and live) at a small place where Cypress North Houston hits 290 - Cajun Connection. 281-758-0326.

He is originally from SW LA and does a pretty good job of cooking them.

I guess I never really thought about the fact that I only go to crawfish boils done by people that are from Louisiana.

When I was home I guess last summer, the only place that I could find that had crawfish did this. I was so pissed
