Legacy of the Void supposedly begins immediately following Heart of the Swarm.

I'm kind of really excited for this after the way HotS ended.

No way. It has to be a few weeks tops after WoL.

So basically the ending that leaked two years ago was the exact same.

I didn't like how protagonist A said all that stuff to protagonist B at the beginning and then towards the end was like "whoops, nevermind."

The game was set up to be better. Hopefully Void delivers.

The book Flashpoint explains the gap. They are literally on the run from Mengsk the entire time. Over the course of the book, Narud (Duran from Brood War) reveals that he had been working for Mengsk the entire time, but Valerian turns on his father and smuggles Kerrigan out. Then the Raiders take refuge at Deadman's Point with Mira coming to their aid.

Umoja, the planet that HoTS begins on, is completely on the other side of Dominion Space.

Edit: according to the game itself, it's 3 weeks.

You do realize that, had Kerrigan not become the Queen of Blades again, that she wouldn't have been powerful enough to break Raynor out of the prison ship, and certainly not powerful enough to topple Mengsk, right?

Basically, it's a "Gift of the Magi" relationship. He gave up everything to save her and she turned around and repayed the favor.

Is this like, official? Here is the only thing I could find on the wiki (SPOILERS):

quote:

Valerian Mengsk's Dominion fleet and Raynor's Raiders invade Char. After long and bloody combat, the xel'naga artifact is successfully activated, de-infesting Kerrigan.[23]

Arcturus Mengsk and the rest of the Dominion Armada arrive, intending to terminate Kerrigan. Valerian and Raynor flee with her, sparking a small scale civil war. Due to her illness, they meet up with Dr. Emil Narud, head of the Möebius Foundation to try to treat her. However, Narud betrays them and makes common cause with Emperor Mengsk. He escapes with the artifact, while Raynor and Valerian escapes, taking Kerrigan to a secret Umojan Protectorate laboratory.[24]

For over two weeks, Valerian subjects Kerrigan to a number of tests, seeing how she reacts to stimuli.[25]

Three weeks after the Battle of Char,[26] Dominion forces track down the Raiders and Kerrigan. Raynor is captured and Kerrigan is seperated from the Raiders. With nothing left save vengeance, she starts reforming the Swarm to achieve vengeance against Mengsk.

Yes which makes his reaction upon seeing her horseshite. It took away from the dynamic they had in the beginning.

He was in prison, for all he knew she hadn't done anything beyond getting him.

Only 1 issue with the plot.

SPOILERS

In WoL every one of those TV broadcasts were either straight lies or put through heavy dominion spin, and yet somehow it's enough for Kerrigan to believe Raynor is dead? Is she dumb? Why does she believe anything says mengsk says? Didn't have any other issues really.

Part of the whole overlooking the loopholes deal. Just gotta take it in stride.

This puzzled me at first too. I kind gave Kerrigan one of those confused "seriously?" looks.

Of course I knew that they couldn't kill Raynor off and knew it was a lie. Kerrigan didn't have my perspective from outside the 4th wall. Plus all of those broadcasts occurred when she was the Queen of Blades and she doesn't remember any of that since being turned back human. It is slightly believable that she would legitimately think Raynor was dead.

Best way to avoid a thread with potential spoilers is to not open a thread that beckons for those who have played it to post.

In all fairness, I have avoided spoilers in my posts. My last post did technically contain spoilers, but they were already mentioned in a previous post so I wasn't the one doing the spoiling.

If this were reddit, I would be using spoiler tags though.

I have a feeling that drifting Protoss ship (after Kaldir) will be a major problem in the next game.

Will be interesting to see. Kerrigan doesn't have influence over that brood mother, so while I don't believe she plans on fricking with the Protoss (her big concern is Amon) who knows what the brood mother will do once the ship arrives on Shakuras.

I feel like they definitely have tuned the campaign game play to the likings of those that play online. Very much fast pace. I can only think of two levels where I had a hatchery and didn't have something to do with a time limit.

Except for the whole having Kerrigan pretty much solo each mission for you thing. Can't do that online.

Well yea. I was more referring to the pace. Get your base up and going quick and attack before whatever consequence there is happens. I know I play slower than most but I would still like to see them mix it up a bit. It got old after awhile.
