What do yall think about this whole playing guitar on your lap thing?

I just don't get the appeal. Yeah it takes plenty of talent I'm sure, but it just doesn't sound all that great imo.

Give me the blues any day

It's not something I just listen to all the time but its certainly impressive as hell and can be quite beautiful

I guess I was referring more to using the guitar as percussion instrument + hitting the strings instead of picking or strumming them

All imitators of the man! Saw him play in Austin in a small club in 1989...one of the best shows I've seen!

Sorry for the confusion. For whatever reason, I always seem to stumbleupon these guys who play an acoustic as a percussion instrument more than anything. I think it's referred to as "tapping", and most of them lay it flat on their laps. Just wanting the MBs opinion, as I don't really understand the appeal for it.
