I don't see any major red flags, but what would be the danger in at least contacting an outfit like this? Any experience with something similar. Low rates, "no" closing costs, etc.

Go to penfed.org. They are legit and have rates just as good if not better. I have my mortgage and HELOC with them today.
It's a credit union so you have to qualify but all you need to do is pay like $20 to join a nonprofit and you're eligible.
