| TSA to allow small knives on planes (Posted on 3/5/13 at 1:06 pm)
LINK / Stewardess Union not happy. Fearful of their safety. TSA says "tough shite as it doesn't effect the overall integrity of the plane." I agree with the TSA. Move in the right direction. Keep going... But funny they still don't allow box-cutters.

It will if a terrorist manages to knife the pilot.

That's a no-go. A terrorist may clip the pilot's cuticles too short so he can't properly handle the controls. Mayhem will follow.

LOL at the belief that box cutters highjacked planes.

Lol. Me and some friends flew home yesterday. TSA made one friend throw away his Swiss Army knife before boarding.

I went through Nola four or five times with mine in my purse. Houston caught me and took it away.

His flight was from N.O. to Vegas. I guess N.O. allowed it but Vegas wouldn't. Either that or he checked it when departing N.O.

What, exactly, do they consider a "Swiss Army-type" knife? Just one that folds and is under 2.36 inches in blade length?

If you let a Macguyver style terrorist on a plane with a swiss army knife he could turn the plane into a ICBM easily.

Made a round trip with one in my suitcase. Didn't realize until I got home and saw it in there, left over from a previous camping trip. I'm glad they're allowing pocket knives, but I'm surprised they are.

Doesn't really matter. Since 9/11 every cockpit in a commercial airliner is impenetrable anyway.

How will the female TSA agents assess said knives? They're going to think that 2.36" blade is 6" because it's as long as their bf's penis.
