Welch said an assistant principal at Park Elementary School told him that his son pointed the pastry at a classmate. The boy maintains he pointed it at the ceiling, according to his father.
“In my eyes, it’s irrelevant; I don’t care who he pointed it at,” Welch said. “It was harmless. It was a danish.”
What is this world coming to? 
In today's society I would probably have been suspended 2-3 times before reaching 5th grade

Said it on the poli board, but my kid was telling me about how he and friends played "hunting" at recess. I keep waiting for some busy body to call and tell me he's been suspended.

we used to run around at recess waving sticks around and pointing them at each other. we would also say things like "bang bang," and often, in case there was any question, "you're dead!"
back in ancient history, this was called "playing"

So what if kids ran around with objects that dont really exist outside the imaginary realm but are used in that realm to do harm?
Lets say kids were playing some sort of Harry Potter game and used sticks and magic wands to shoot imaginary spells at each other? Would that be allowed?

Meanwhile, a kid in florida disarms another student that was threatening to shoot a kid at point blank range and gets suspended for 3 days for saving a life.
And 2 kids bullied a student in the northeast so much they accidentally killed the kid and they only get suspended for two days.

Take what seriously...a gun shaped Pop Tart?
This is a result of stupid no tolerance policies that eliminate thinking in favor of "going by the book."
What should have happened was a teacher should have said, "Stop it and either eat your food or throw it away." Boom...done.
