No, playing it after the PAT was dropped long before 2006.

It was somewhere around 04. It was after we won the NC with Saban. I was a student at the time, there was an article in the Reveille about it when the band decided to stop playing it.

STTDB started after I graduated. If it was being said, you couldn't tell while I was a student.

Difference is that football was not the business that it is today

CBS and ESPN will yank our arse off tv in a heartbeat if we keep that stuff up

No exposure hurts recruiting and then back to mediocrity...or worse

I agree that STTDB is annoying, but the administration shouldn't have started this by challenging students on ooo-eee-ooo you suck + "cock" for the usc game and "tebow" for the UF game.

Hell, the t-shirts for the game said "beat the cocks"

So, STTDB would be to blame for LSU not getting enough national attention? I've heard it all now. There's a reason ESPN/CBS fap about Tiger Stadium's atmosphere in commercials and the pre-game commentary. And that fap-fest and love TS gets from the media has nothing to do with how nice we are to opposing fans. Again, we've never been confused with Nebraska fans and there's a reason for that. I guarantee you students saying STTDB, regardless of how stupid it is, will never cause a TV network to not broadcast a game.

If that were the case, what do you guys think about Wisconsin fans? Have you heard that shite? It blows my mind that y'all get so wrapped around the axle about this happening at LSU. These student section vulgarities have obviously always been around (see posts above) and they happen everywhere.

I said that STTDB is reason for networks to keep us off the air

I don't care what Wisconsin does. I care what LSU does.

I wasn't born yet but I highly doubt the entire student section was chanting that whole paragraph in a way that could be clearly understood throughout the stadium and on TV.

I'm not saying small groups of people never say things and that individuals don't yell and cuss at a bad call or whatever. I'm saying the entire section doing it where everyone can hear it makes LSU look like garbage.

You've got a hell of a point. I kinda forgot about ooo-eee-ooo chant "controversy." That was an even more pathetic and hypocritical move to try and make the whole thing politically correct.

STTDB will never be a reason to keep us off the air. The administration says that to save their own arse. If that were the case, half of college football and basketball games wouldn't be broadcasted. Hell, I heard "bullshite, bullshite, bullshite" from my kitchen earlier when the Red Wings-Blackhawks hockey game was on today.

Now that the public sees it, it's not okay. But, back in the day, when just the fans, opposing teams, and reporters heard/saw it, it was okay? You don't think it made LSU look like garbage then too? Sure, fewer people per viewing but still the same result.

The sooner ppl(new season ticket holders) realize that LSU will always be LSU which means: loud, drunken, chanting, cursing, passion. The better time they would have. Don't go if you don't want to hear or see anything that the average 21 year old will do.

What an idiotic and close minded point of view. Look, I'm 34 and it wasn't that long ago I was in the student section yelling obscenities with the best of them. On a couple of occasions, I had parents with young kids sitting beside me and either held back or moved because it was the decent and respectible thing to do. I have no issue with the all out random cursing on bad plays/calls etc. but for the section to do it in unison so as the whole stadium can understand it is just childish and irresponsible. While you and the other 16k students have this immature view, there are 60K alumni and families in there who don't appreciate the fact that you are making the university sound like a bunch of punk arse POS. You better believe I'd sign a petition to ban y'alls asses for a game or two to get it under control.

ETA: Y'all got Neck banned which was a pretty good song and perhaps contributed to the piped in cliched songs that are being played.

Louisiana State University

it would be a terrible PR move for the university to ban students for games, and they students would retaliate. It would be a true slippery slope for the university

This is pure freakin gold.

I'm an alumnus too and I would never, on any occasion, try to ban the student section from TS. If that happened, I'd never give another dime to LSU You guys have really fallen hard. This is ridiculous.

You clearly missed earlier when a fellow alum quoted some pretty vulgar chants that happened back in the day loud and in unison. Oh, but newer students are a bunch of

No, I said I highly doubt the entire section was doing it in a way that it was clear throughout the entire stadium. I realize random people or small groups are going to say what they want. It's when thousands of people do it in unison that LSU looks like trash.

If your thing is chanting about dicks and cocks good for you, have a great time expressing yourself. Hopefully at some point we won't have thousands joining you. Ofcourse then the stadium wouldn't be as intimidating, right?
