Have those 2 down for my locks. Granderson broke his forearm last week and will be out til Mid May I believe. I want more opinions on that 3rd and final keeper. I have selected someone but was wanting to make sure of it.

Are you in roto or head to head? If you're in roto then keep votto, pedroia, and either mauer or kimbrel. If you keep mauer you'll be set on the shallow catcher position, but if you keep kimbrel you can wait an extra few rounds to take a closer/

if there are no restrictions, you'd want Granderson for years to come

he's his 43 and 41 HRs that last 2 years. That RF porch in yankee stadium is really nice to him.

I know he broke his arm; supposed to be 10 weeks. He should play in 120-130 games at the least

Exactly my struggles here. I'm a Braves fan, so for now, yeah I have Kimbrel as that 3rd keeper. But Mauer has been right there and Lester Eark you make a good point on Granderson, but I'm just not sure that sub 250 ave will get the knod.

Oh & I'm in ROTO league.

Mauer, Votto, Pedroia. All three of these positions aren't very deep.

Granderson will fall more in the draft since his value has dropped.

Obviously Votto and Pedroia are kept here. The third will be a judgement call for you, but I would think hard about BJ Upton. He will believe it or not hit for a higher avg than Grandy. He will swipe more bags than Grandy. RBI's will be close. BJ will hit less homers per year but not a lot less. And also keep in mind that BJ Upton is healthy and 3 years younger than Grandy. Just something to think about.

the last 3 years:

Upton .242

Grandy .247

RBI's will be close.

last 3 years

Upton 74 RBI per year

Grandy 96 RBI per year

last 3 years on average

Upton 23 HR

Grandy 36 HR

Upton 83

Granderson 105

honestly nothing you said was true. You are clueless

Last year Grandy hit .232
Upton hit .246

RBI's will be close because he will be hitting in the 5 hole now for a productive Braves lineup. I think his rbi's will increase

Hr's last year
Grandy 43
Upton 28

I think it all makes perfect sense. The only real advantage Grandy has is power. Upton makes up for that in steals.

I take it you own Grandy in a keeper/dynasty league?

I guess we will see after this year. I wouldn't be shocked if Upton had the better year this year and the better next couple years.

Last year, Grandy finished the season 13th among outfielders on the ESPN player rater. BJ Upton finished 14th. He's younger, healthier, and in a better lineup.

Yes it's a tough call between Grandy and BJ. I might could draft Grandy later since he's going to be out 10 weeks. Heck, I'm a Braves fan as well... so I'm leaning Kimbrel and BJ, with Mauer right there.

Stolen Bases. ESPN Player Rater is flawed in that aspect.

Granderson

8th in Runs (2.31)
2nd in HR (3.78)
5th in RBI (2.48)
62nd in SB (.57)
239th in AVG (-1.43)

Upton

32nd in Runs (1.54)
17th in HR (2.17)
31st in RBI (1.55)
9th in SB (3.07)
200th in AVG (-.64)

If you like to pay for SBs, Upton is your man. His is no doubt a good player, but it's Grandy 9 times out of 10.

PS- For the love of god, switch to an OPS league

this.

it's not even close

BJ Upton will last in the 5 hole, ohhhh.. about 1 month. Way too inconsistent, strikes out way too much.

That lineup isnt any more loaded than the TB lineup he had been hitting in.

Let's also point out he is a career .218 hitter in the 5 hole, by far his worst average of any in the batting order.

he'll end up batting 7th or maybe 2nd... who knows
