I ran into a dui check point in Shreveport on 70th st infront of the Honda place and they gave me and several other people tickets for foglights... I didnt even know that was illegal

I heard they were illegal years ago, but didn't really think they were. Why the frick are they there then? I use them in the fog all the time. They're excellent.

and I thought just having them on while you're behind or approaching an oncoming car was a dick move, didn't know it was illegal.

No. Some vehicles don't have them, but many do. They are the small lights below the headlights. Totally separate from the headlights.

Fog lights on when there is no fog has always been illegal for as long as I can remember. I never use them, but the wife always uses them.
I'm sure I will be paying for one of the tickets in the future if they start enforcing the law.

Did you happen to look and see how many people were posted up at Fud's?
I think Thursday is one of their "big" nights. If any night is big at Fud's...

gonna post a message on FB for several of my Law enforcement friends here in Shreveport and see what they say. I am thinking that it only refers to aftermarket lights. I know it is illegal to run offroad lights on the road since they are brighter but I live in Shreveport and run my driving lights everynight and pass cops all the time and never have an issue. Will post with their response

Are they those really bright blue tinted things? I've read they're supposed to be cracking down on those things. Which is good, I hate those things, they're way too bright.
I don't think you can get a ticket for having your fog lights on if it's foggy.
If you have them on to look cool and a jerk cop sees it, he might cite you for it.
Is that what happened? Really asking.

really think it is for people that are replacing the original lighting for HID's that aren't aimed correctly. Waiting for a response from FB LEO's in Shreveport

I read this law the other day and from what I gathered you can only run 4 forward facing lights at any one time and the highest lights can't be over 50 something inches.
Had to check to make sure the jeep cleared.
If they are not a factory light then you can be ticketed, especially if they are HID or those terrible blue things posing as a euro car.
