The Gordon situation is killing us

I really think that the biggest problem we have at the moment is call Erick Gordon. I am not saying he is a bad player, but between the fact that he cannot play in back to backs, and the lack of consistency he has shown, the team has not been able to develop clear and consistent game style.
We have gone from a team that was losing because we were waiting for our superstar to come back, to a team that plays a different style every game (Depending on whether Gordon plays and how he plays).
I actually think that given the development of our players, we should be playing better more consistent ball by now, but the whole Gordon saga is just preventing us from developing further.

Realize and accept that this team will never be a contender. Once you do this you will be at peace.

Yes, because Anderson, Lopez and Vasquez having to shoulder more of the scoring load has hurt their game this year rather than forced them to develop. Because Austin Rivers has not benefited from all the extra minutes he's received thanks to Gordon being out so often.
I'll agree that if the goal was to win he would be reason #1 why the team wasn't meeting it's goals, but winning isn't the primary goal this year.

He's only going to get better. I totally agree with this statement. The league is tough, but there's only one way to learn!

This team will be a contender within 2 years.

If winning isn't a concern then wouldn't eg playing stifle development of players that needed him put early to be any good?

Primary concern. I don't think Monty has it in him to try to lose, last year Demps had to take pieces off the board to get the tank rolling. But it's obvious that developing guys like Rivers and even Roberts seems to be more important than winning this year.

It's funny cause I actually hear people say this at games all the time

Anthony davis is the hornets drew brees. take your loser mentality else where like france or something
Realize and accept that this team will never be a contender

I think he was talking about just this season. The building blocks are there and Gordon's playing time has nothing to do with the development of others on this team.

We have a winner.

Wait, what? Hello? I don't want anyone who has this type of mentality to have anything to do with my organization.

Actually, if anything, we clearly have a loser who is content with such.

I misunderstood his quoting technique.... I thought he was talking specifically about:

eta - I agree with what you said.

Well maybe you should go be a Lakers fan then. Most teams have to rebuild and develop players from time to time. This is not to be confused with tanking. There have been plenty of times this year where Monty should have put starters back in or at least called a time out and he didn't. That's not playing to win, that's playing to let guys develop and learn from their mistakes now so you can win in the future.
