It is for specific cancers that can be identified by a particular protein. It can detect Pancreatic cancer much earlier, which has almost a 100% mortality rate. There are details I didn't go in to.

Corporate America and the Gov't will pay this kid large amounts of money for the trademark to "produce" it for him and it'll never appear on the market in order to protect all the people currently making bank on cancer in the medical world.
It's sad, but I suspect it will happen. Just like I think most "green" energy is a hoax and a reason to jack up oil prices. They could find an efficient form of alternate energy if they wanted to, but oil makes too much money. Just watch when the reserves really get low, they'll have some new "breakthrough" technology all of a sudden.

Y'all are too negative.
The existing test is really old and not covered by some insurance. I doubt big pharma is raking in the cash on this.
Props to this kid and I hope the test becomes part of standard blood work.
