it would take him a total of 10 seconds to find weed. Everyone has it. Hell, in some states he can buy it straight from a place.

I haven't called anyone naive. You ought to get your facts straight, though. There is currently one state with a dispensary system set up: CA. He would have to go get a card that allows him to purchase. Paper trail created. He's screwed himself. CO and WA have legalized, but the system for sale is not in place.

10 seconds? Everyone has it? Hyperbole aside, no doubt its prevalent everywhere. But when his NFL team assigns a hand-holder to him it won't that easy for him to get it without an existing connection. New Orleans would be completely different. If you can't see that, then you're not naive; you're plain stupid.

The guy has already said that going to new orleans would not be ideal for him. He knows the temptation would be much greater there and much easier to fulfill.

minimal investment for possible 1st round talent? I think we would be fools not to draft him. If he doesn't pan out, so what

I said there may come a point when the risk-reward makes it a no brainer. But that point won't be in rounds 1-3, and seems like he'll be gone by 3 for sure. If he's there in the 4th (assuming we have one...I dunno), it gets tempting I think.

That doesn't say anything new, just re-hashes the tweet about Ryan and Duncan's "Should We?" article.

Thanks for getting my hopes up

Wow. There are 18 states where medical marijuana is legal. It is legal to sell marijuana in Washington, which means that people will sell marijuana in Washington, especially in a city like Seattle. There are already stores selling as of now. Medical marijuana has been legal in Washington for some time now and there were already business in Washington before it was made legal for recreation. Maybe you should learn what you're talking about

you think the guy is going to be with him 24/7. What happens we he comes back to Louisiana for the offseason?

the access to Marijuana is going to be the same almost anywhere. Pre-existing connections to it means absolutely nothing, especially when he has money. I don't think he's going to be sitting at home and then have a sudden urge to smoke, go run and buy some drugs. I think he would be at a party/club and get passed a joint

If you don't think that, than you are plain stupid.

I don't deny that it would be better for him. That shouldn't be the Saints concern if the value is right. The round 3 is good enough value to justify the risk of a 4 game suspension (our corners only play 8-12 weeks anyways)

It's not about the weed, people, or how easy it would be to procure it.

Maybe on the defensive side of the ball. But I think with the Bears already having Hester as their punt returner, he won't really be utilized in that facet of the game. To me he'd do better on a team that has a void in CBs and punt returners.

Saints are a better fit in my opinion. Sproles is dynamite, but he is getting older and PR is not a place I'd put a (soon to be) 30 year old. Not that he can't do it; it's just better to have a younger guy in that role.

What you have said is neither new, interesting, nor logical.

You can smoke pot and get into trouble anywhere you want in the world. Except maybe Antarctica and/or Greenland.

You think it's illogical to suggest that a new location away from some of the demons and influences of one's past can have a positive effect on someone's future?

No one is saying he can't get drugs anywhere but what you said is neither interesting nor logical.

the access to his childhood pals who do nothing all day and are dying to have a millionaire friend to buy them drugs probably wouldn't be the same in Minnesota as it is in NOLA

which I agree with. He was arguing that it would be hard to find it in a new city because he wouldn't have a source.

He's still going to see those friends in the offseason, but the risk would certainly be diminished

Personally, the risk of a 4 game suspension does not bother me since our db's can't stay healthy anyways

Have we just blocked out of our mind that we fielded the worst defense in NFL history last year? The Saints are in NO position to gamble in the draft this year, we have to hit a grand slam home run. Taking a risk on an undersized situational player with addiction issues isn't in the cards this year guys.

Let him cover the slot receivers and do what he does best.

If I had to bet where he would go, I'd say New England. They seem to love taking chances on SEC players.

This would be an option in a year where we didn't have such glaring and more important needs.

We're switching defensive schemes and we need new players to fit that system. A guy to cover slot receivers isn't going to help us with that.

Bigger needs and he's a gamble.

I think it is even more of a reason to pick him. You're getting value with that pick and he can play several positions of need (corner, nickel, and safety)

Causing turnovers is all the defense needs to be able to do.

You already showed last week that you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to tm7

assuming i agree a bit with your premise, even if you don't go gambling on draft day... aren't you still gambling?
