| Gov. Christie to announce expansion of Medicaid in budget speech (Posted on 2/26/13 at 12:43 pm)
Looks like he is getting in bed with Obamacare, just like Scott in Florida... Spineless fricks they are. If they want to do this because of the $$$, albeit, but don't come out whining and complaining about Obamacare and then come with your hands out.
quote:
Gov. Chris Christie will expand the state's Medicaid program to cover 300,000 uninsured New Jersey residents, The Star-Ledger learned today. The governor's new budget, which he plans to unveil at joint session of the Legislature this afternoon, also relies on state revenue growth of 4.9 percent and delays some property tax rebates for local taxpayers, according to three sources with knowledge of the budget plan who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

I said that in the OP... I've got no problem if he wants to take $$$, but don't come out bitching and complaining about Obamacare and then put your hand out. Just goes to show you that at the end of the day, they are all whores.

Maybe, maybe not. It's very short-sighted IMO.

expecting 5% growth and delaying (aka eliminating) rebates to citizens is passing all costs to the feds?

Yeah, I get the hypocrite angle But once the law is in place you'd be stupid to not take the money for your state

I have to disagree here. There are "deductions" that I may want removed. But, as long as they exist...I'll claim them on my taxes. (the above is an example. I'll not give a "link" or a "specific")

They'll all get in with it. Why? Because they'll all not be subject to it. Obamacare is for the little people.

I guess you're right... What the hell, doesn't matter, they're expecting the funding to only last 3yrs anyway... Might as well hurry up and run the country into the ground quicker, so we can get to the reset button and start anew.

Liberals like to point out the hypocrisy that Ayn Rand took Social Security Benefits... The defense to that point, she wanted to take back what the government unjustly took from her...same concept here. Oh, welcome back SpiderManTuba.

Or principled. We have to leave room for the odd guy who might still be principled, right ? Regardless, one way or the other, Christie is making his bed.

Meh. Obamacare passed. Its gonna be on the books whether he takes money or not. I have no problem with someone being against a policy...and taking advantage of that same policy if it is put in place despite their opposition.

NJ CONSISTENTLY receives the fewest fed dollars compared to what they give to the feds I have no problem with Christie doing what is best for his state. That's his job

Like someone pointed out, it may be a good short term idea, but after the Feds quit subsidizing in 3 yrs, then what?
