| In the market for new mud tires (Posted on 2/21/13 at 11:42 am)
Looking for some 33x10.5x15, something like remington's mud brute's. I have 31's on now and the back two are getting on the bad side. Who has the best deal around the BR area or off the net?

I really don't need to spend an arm and a leg for tires. I don't used my XJ that much. Maybe put 3-4k a year on it.

Might have to put the wife on the street cornner. I will be needing to buy a set for my truck soon too! On secound though, it would be cheaper to keep the wife inside.

Did not see a link in that top thread Buckshots are probably gonna be your cheapest option. On a 1/2 ton truck, expect to get 35k miles until they are completely bald

Buckshot, master craft MT, mud brute, etc All should cost about the same and all perform about the same.

Putting them on my XJ. I guess I should be able to fit the 33's. The 31's have a lot of room. I have a 3.5" lift kit under it.

You should be good. Depending on your rim it my rub on the inside front when you turn. Stocks rims will rub, but any aftermarket with a little bit of "dish" in it won't rub at all. I had a 2000 TJ with the same lift and went from 31's to 33's. The above was my experience... Look into those mud rover's. I had them, buckshots, and mud brutes on it. The Dunlops pulled the best, and I ended up getting them one more time before I sold it.

Yep, had to do some adjusting on the stops that took care of that.

look for mud kings. they are made by bfg as their generic brand. i sold them for years and had several sets on my trucks and jeeps over the years. great tires and relatively cheap compared to other mud tires.

+2 I just went to these. The deciding factor between these and the other lower priced tire I was looking at was the couragias had more space between tread to cut down on rock slinging.
