| Obama Is Brilliant (Posted on 2/20/13 at 12:52 pm)
-The guy says that he will veto any bill that does not have sequestration for defense (something Republicans have been against for decades...defense cuts); -Defense cuts are now very much in play in the form of sequestration and Obama is now saying that the Republicans are in favor of cutting the military...one of the few remaining platforms in which the Rs have maintained public support...strong defense; -Republicans are now in the position of using defense cuts as "leverage" against Obama of all things; -Obama is now seen as strong on defense, a proponent of the military while at the same time leveraging the mindset that government cuts are always bad...one of the planks of the liberal/progressive platform. Gotta give him his due, he is politically running circles around the Republican Party.

And the sequester is not an actual cut but a decrease in the rate of growth.

He's not especially talented in that department. He's no LBJ, Nixon, Reagan, or Clinton for instance. The GOP in the house is just that shitty.

Agree, his trap on the sequester was brilliant. No media to call him on it, now that he's blaming Repubs for his own plan, is something not many presidents enjoy to this degree. Still, I just don't see how these games will help. Can't keep throwing money at problems for long, though.

Republicans aren't going to lose any support over Defense. The type of person that votes republican is not dumb enough to believe what this bullshiteter in the oval office tells them.

I don't see anything special about this. He insisted on defense being in sequestration undoubtedly because he wanted the republicans to have some skin in the game when negotiations to avoid sequestration inevitably started. This is their skin being in the game. Not a big secret or anything underhanded imo. And not brilliant. Just common sense.

Agree CT, it is the lack of being called on by the media. Without them we would be dogging Romney instead of this arsewipe. Pathetic in that the media is so damn onesided.

There will be no sequestration. They will extend for another quarter or they will come to an agreement. The market is finally ticking again and both sides realize this crap needs to be resolved. There are Democrats up for re-election soon and I believe Hussein would like to see them stay in office. If he wants that to happen a deal must be reached.

The only reason he is able to do this is because he has the media in his pocket. They refuse to ask the tough questions or report anything that makes him look bad.

If he had the same media tht confronted Reagan, Bush I or Bush II, everyone would know the utter fricking disaster this guy is. Instead, they willingly shovel the bull shite for him. frick him, and his accomplices.

With the media he can feed it until the end and blame somebody else when there is rioting in the streets. This is why it is pertinent that a sitting President has good character and decency, that at least play acts in actions, that country comes before politics. With a media like this he is teflon. LINK food nanny police promoted as good LINK And gushing over the first dog while Obama travels the US lying in pure partisan politics not intended on healing our country. LINK

The same thing was once said about Hitler. The pathetic thing is: if Obama supporters were loaded on a train to be gassed to death they would still be defending Obama all the way to the chambers singing and chanting this.
