A co-worker, who's black, and I were having a discussion yesterday about this topic. I didn't pledge anything in college. My co-worker did. He was telling me about all the hazing stories amongst black frats. He said in general, black frat hazing is all about hurting you physically with punching, slapping, spanking folks on line.
My question to the board is are white frats the same when pledging their recruits?

So it depends on where. Tulane frats don't mess around....hazing is brutal across the board. Not a lot of hitting but a lot of throwing up.

There is a hilarious double standard when it comes to NPHC hazing and IFC hazing.

A lot of stuff depends on the chapter involved, but I've heard far worse stuff about what hazing occurs in the black fraternities and sororities than in the white ones.
Lots of police reports regarding beatings / paddlings at Greek organizations at HBCUs like Florida A&M, for example, which corresponds with what I'd heard about the black fraternities at my school like KA Psi year before that.

I know a guy that was in a frat that was kicked off campus at LSU back in the late 90's. He made a kid sit in a closet for 3-4 days while having an alarm clock go off the entire time. Said they actually did mental damage to the kid, and he was a pussy for not sticking it out.
