What Happenend To The Times?

After visiting my mother in the hospital Saturday evening, my son and I decided to go grab a burger.
We waited a minute or two and we were seated. And that was it. No waiter, after 5 minutes I was ready to go but my son persuaded me to wait a little while longer. So we looked over the menu some more and talked about his job bussing tables.
After 15 minutes of no one acknowledging our existence, we left. They weren't slammed with business so that's not an excuse.

Went to Santa Fe CC once...I ordered the filet. I should have had it tested to see what kind of animal it came from. Scariest piece of meat that I ever ate. Would have much preferred M-Dog's Uppity Yellow Slaw Weiners instead.

That sucks. I've only been like 2 times, but I didn't have an issue either time.
Not that this situation is AT ALL your fault, but I'll never understand why people have an issue like this and never ask anyone. If I was in a restaurant waiting to see a server and one never came, I'd go back up and ask the hostess if she let the server for that section know we were there/if she could go get her. I'd even possibly stop another server. If I was still ignored, then I would leave, but I don't think I'd leave without alerting someone as to why.

My job as a customer is to get waited on and served, the jobs of the waitstaff and hostess are to wait on me. I would never go search for someone. I agree with the OP in leaving

This happened to me back in the early 60s at a place called Deisis Little Capital. Not sure if it still exists. It was near Baton Rouge. A diner. I walked in and waited at the counter for 20 minutes. Waitresses kept walking by me. I think they were having group PMS. I left. Never went back.

Yeah but that's like going somewhere, having horrible food, and not telling anyone.
I bet the manager and possibly even the waitstaff would want to know what happened.
Did he see a server at all? Did anyone see him leave? Etc.
They may have no idea he was ever there and his exit has done nothing to lead to improvement.
This is 100% the fault of the restaurant. But sometimes shite falls through the cracks and I'd imagine any decent manager/staff would want to know they let this happen.

The truck stop at the Henderson / Cecilia exit at the foot of the Atchafalaya Basin? They had waitresses back then? It's only counter service now but they make a pretty mean burger. I have stood up there as long as 10 minutes but it is worth the wait. They get in no hurry for anyone except LSP. Super friendly people though with their usual, "whaddya havin' today my babeh?"
