Well fwiw, I never missed a home basketball or football game my 5 years at LSU. I did my job. I can understand why some dont though. I don't go to many baseball games because I'm not a big baseball fan.
Didn't realize they handed out scholarships for athletic attendance.

on TV it looks like there was alot of students there
The lower level student section wasnt close to being full. The middle level student section wasnt close to being full. The upper level student section was pretty much empty. It was pretty pathetic.

People would always rather sit up in the seats than sit with the uncool "hooligans" in the bleachers.
Big talk coming from someone who found out LSU has a basketball team three weeks ago.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that until the bball team shows a pattern of winning (2-3 seasons of going to ncaa tournament) the crowds will not be that big or exciting? Once the team starts winning consistently, more and more people will show up.

I think it'll only take one good season. People want to buy back in, but some won't until they see postseason results.

Baton Rouge is just not that interested in basketball beyond the occasional bandwagon season. Neither is Nola for that matter. Check out attendance for Hornets, UNO, and Tulane.

Lsu is football, baseball, basketball. There had just been a baseball game that had great student attendance. I went to both games. Why don't you bitch about how the Box wasn't full yesterday too

I never sat in the student section while i was a student. there are much better seats since the general public doesnt bother to fill them either.
You fans that bash the students need to get the frick over it. without students there is no university and no point in having athletics.

Does it matter how long I've been a "fan" as long as I'm there?

When this team starts competing for SEC titles and NCAA appearances again they'll come back
Sad but the truth

All losing teams. Fans like to support winners. Winning fixes attendance problems.
