would "save" families who need daycare for their 4 year olds

would hurt existing daycares

would just be another money sink like the existing public education system

Are we going to have teachers with Masters degrees watching the kids?

No.

In case you were wondering...we're fricking broke.

Also, unlike the feds, the states can't just print money.

yes the earlier the better that two and three year olds know how mommy and daddy are polluting the earth, and at such a young age it is easier to flip them to the gheys.

More teachers to join the union. Of course we dont need this. But shite why dont we just take the kids at birth seen them off to school and let them return home at 18.

A Few Thoughts:
(1) By in large, public education is failing...what will make this different?
(2) The Pre-school arena is currently mainly a function of the private sector...will this put an end to private sector jobs by default and will actual education of these children decrease?
(3) Will the autonomy of the expectation translating into demand from the parents to the school be damaged as the "free alternative" pushes the private school to the side?

All that being said, I am somewhat sympathetic to his cause if he has wholely pure intentions. Given his coziness with teachers unions, I must necessarily question the purity of his intent as well as this could be just another way to launder more tax dollars into the pockets of the unions that demand and produce failure.

Nothing you learn when you are 4 y/o makes a damn bit of difference in the long run.

It's fricking stupid.

It's just another way to transfer wealth.

This is the purpose of the proposal.

Public school has destroyed the fair market for private education. Public education has but to mandate preschool in order to completely corner the last bit of uncovered market.

Such an utterly destructive policy that has proven to be a complete and total failure.

I would love to see public education disappear and see the private market diversify and grow.
