Game Suggestions (XBox 360)

I am currently wrapping up the Mass Effect series. My original plan when I started it a few months ago was to finish it in time to roll into GTA V which was looking at a March/April release. I'm sure everyone on this board knows that it is going to be a much longer wait than that. So now I am looking for some games to get through the spring and summer. I was hoping to get some suggestions. I really like games that mix FPS with a deep story and an open world. My favorites include the Mass Effect Series, Fallout series and GTA series.

Its not an FPS, but Red Dead Redemption is a fantastic game, that I think you would like.
Its not like Mass Effect 3 where the story is extremely deep, but for a standalone game it has a great story.

Red dead redemption is amazing
Skyrim. Not fps but a great game
Borderlands. Better with co-op

Also I haven't played it but I hear far cry 3 is great

How did I know those would be your recommendations? 
Based off his preferences I don't think op would like dark souls. Of the games listed this far I think rdr would be his best bet. Rpg style western third person shooter with a great story, good gameplay, tons of hour to sink in to it with side quests, hunting, etc. not to mention an awesome ending and good dlc to boot
