crab cake is expensive but very good. 100% crab meat, no filler. It is expensive but get the order that has 2 and split it with your date for an app. I really like their shrimp grits and grillads as an entree.

the tasting of Lousiana is good. chicken and waffle is solid. I think they have the best bread pudding in BR.

I mean it's pretty decent and I'll have to say much better than when it first opened even though I don't have any particular items to recommend. But man they sure are proud of it and I just believe I could get a better deal bringing the soccer team to Earnests.

agreed. the fish dish i got there a while back was a piece of fish roughly 1 inch by 3 inches. and it was like $28. The steak my wife got was like $35. That on top of the $18 crab cake got the bill of to a pretty fast start.

Was looking for something different than Ruffino's and the gf likes seafood so figured I would give it a shot. Any other restaurant recommendations?

No, no go do it. As I said it's gotten better and I actually like it but I just think it's a bit overpriced. I'm sure if you post on here you wouldn't have to up your AMEX anyway.
Not seafood but I'm going to Nino's tonight. I believe it really is hitting on all cylinders right now and a great quiet atmosphere. Hip little wine list as well.
I'd have to say I like the cast iron oysters and the oyster stew at LeCreole and I had the rabbit last time and it was good but I prefered it not being fried. Haven't really found a fish there that pops out at me and I'm a fish guy. But then again not anywhere lately has really inspired me to eat their fish.

Or go eat some really good Italian at Nino's. I'll buy ya'll a glass of wine.

Now you could also go to Jubans for about the same price and I would definately put it head and shoulders above LeCreole. Menus are similar in terms of style.
Sit in the courtyard and have some small plates, good wine or a cocktail which I'm a big fan of.

I agree, French Market Bistro used to be my go to place for fish, but last 2 times I have been there the fish was done poorly, which is a shame because they are one of the few places that offers more than talipia, catfish, salmon or tuna....Try J alexanders for for fish dishs

He does a good veal chop, a nice small sirloin, good pizzas but his pastas are amazing. The brie and tomatos is as good a pasta dish in the city as is his gorgonzola pasta.
Lunch is a deal with either a soup or a choice of about 6 salads and a choice of a sandwich or about 10 pastas for $12.00.
It's a real small quiet place. Probably 10 or so tables. A great place to bring your girlfriend.

I think the last time I went to Le Creole was my last. To me the restaurant has steadily gone downhill since it opened. If you want a pretty laid back atmosphere that serves good seafood give Louisiana Lagniappe a try. The only problem is their wait can be pretty long and the don't take reservations for small parties.
