I was at that game with my sister and father. My father passed away about 8 months later.

Went to the final four that year, the calls on "E" in person were just as bad as they appeared on TV. Ethan was a 1/2 a step quicker than Thomas.

Oh my....

I was there as well.

Observations:

Little to no use of the term Final Four.
No 3 pt line
No shot clock
No posession arrow
We were a very QUICK team
GM at the height of its suckism
Natural light commercial w lasorda
OJ Simpson hertz commercial

This was the year I fell in love w LSU.

Most love I've ever witnessed Packer throwing our way. Reminded me of how MacGuire was the man in his day, long before Dick Vitale.

Great game to watch. Went on to lose to Indiana.

I was at that game and the Arkansas game. Great, great LSU basketball team. That entire year was unbelievable. For those who say LSU is not a basketball school you should have been there.

I too was there. 40,000 in the Dome was unbelievable for basketball, and the setup wasn't all that great. So many LSU fans way up in the Terrace. We were the best team in the Country that year, just got a little wide eyed at the Final Four in Philly.

Missed that game but DID drive 24 hours straight through to see the Tigers in Philly! (Too bad they lost in the semis!) That was quite a year for LSU Basketball. Are we back?!

some interesting things:

Enberg/Packer/McGuire were NBC's #1 crew....and they were doing the LSU game

The Dome was fricking LOUD

Wichita State was pretty good. The two big guys inside were big timers, remember them being a national conversation that season

This was the last game of the Elite Eight....usually reserved for the "big name" team or teams

IIRC This LSU team was a national story as well. Think that has alot to do with coverage

I truly think CJJ will bring back some of Dale's old recruiting treats like having National Games in the Superdome

Ethan Martin.

Smooth as silk.

Used to love that leap-and-leaner in the lane. That was his shot.

Maclin had the best body control you'll ever see in a big man when he went in for those close to the basket shots.

E Martin is what a real point guard looks like. He's still the best PG in LSU history.
