Is it 1 or 2 years or is this at least a 4 or 5 year thing?

Good enough for Cam to take over whenever Les chooses to retire.

i think its a good question...to me its a good hire no matter how long he stays, but is he content at this position or will he be looking to leave in a couple years....imo clm would not hire someone that would be looking to leave after one year.im sure clm was looking for a coach to develope the young qbs he has..

Les' contract expires in 2019 which would put him at 65 years old. Assuming he retires then and Cam is still there that would put Cam at 59-60 years old. I don't know if we promote an OC to head coach knowing that he only has a handful of years in him.

I think OC is CC's ceiling at LSU

Extremely poor choice of words.

Hopefully he will stay on at least 3 years. Much will depend on his desire to go back to NFL, or become a HC, both of which will be dependent on his success here.

If he wants to be a head coach again he won't be here long at all. He's 52 right now the clock is ticking and his window of opportunity won't be open for much longer. Now if he's had his fill of being the HC and wants to take the Chavis route then I don't see why he wouldn't become a lifer here if successful. The money is pretty much the same and if he's successful here that means he will be coaching an elite team and national championship contender year in and year out. I don't see why he would bolt to the uncertainty of the nfl.

Of course maybe he just prefers the nfl game, who knows? But I think that if CC is ok with being an OC for the rest of his career then he will be here for quite some time.

I too figured about two years. But I don't know. I have this IMPRESSION that he wants to be in the NFL again. But who knows? Maybe in a 11 months we will have a better idea of what his vision is for his future.

If he is successful I just don't see why he would want to leave. I'm sure he is going to at least close to equal money here and if he is successful in the college game then he's pretty much gaurunteed to coach a championship contender every year. I don't see why a person would leave that for the uncertainty and gamble that is the NFL

Unless he wants to be a head coach again because he will not be the head coach at LSU.

I hope this is the case. The proof is in the pudding of course, but I really think this is a solid hire and hope he stays duration with Miles.

Whoa! what's with all the jack arse comments? I said nothing about whether this was a good hire or not. Just wondering if this will be a long term thing or does the guy have an iterest in going back to the NFL in the next two years or so. To the jack arse short fused know it all's on here:
