Anyone ever hunted either? Planning a bow hunt for next year and gonna try to do it a little closer to home. It's between these two as of yet and was looking for some input.

Tough choice. Heard good things about both but never been to either.

Same here. I have friends that have been to both too.

All money being the same, I think I would choose Giles.

I'm curious about this as well . I know there were some studs that came from Giles this year but I'm not sure about Tara .

From what my bud says Giles is top notch straight up best bow hunting in the south. If price was the same, which I think it's close. Giles all the way.

Best I can tell, for what I've heard and all, Giles is a little more money with a lower success rate, but a chance of killing a true STUD.

I do like that Tara is bowhunting only though.

I don't see how you can go wrong with either of them.

Yeah, I really like the Giles idea, but my buddy wants to go to Tara. I really would be OK either way.

It comes down to are you willing to go home with nothing to take the chance at a monster.

I would love to go to Giles for sure . My funds gotta go into finding a good club around this area . Seems like its either 1000 bucks and brown down or 5000+ a year with a big initial fee

Look into finding your own land. Small tracts and a couple buddies and you're in business.

Well hunting Tara you have to have a Mississippi lisence. Giles doesn't say or i didn't find it.

I know that one of the deer killed in Giles is up for admission to the Mississippi State records books. That leads me to believe you need a Mississippi license, but that's a good point. That could make up the price difference.

I think it's about 200 bucks for a 5 day permit . I know the whole license was something like 420 $ last time I got one there . Balls could tell you for sure

Ask if you can hunt on either states license before you buy one or the other.
